Arikapudi Gandhi & his Followers Gatecrash into Kaushik Reddy’s House, Go Berserk

Hyderabad: Challenges and counter-challenges between defected BRS party MLA Arikapudi Gandhi and BRS party MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy became intense on Thursday. Arikapudi Gandhi, accompanied by his followers went to MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy's house in Madhapur in the city. There was a commotion at Reddy’s residence. Gandhi's supporters and Congress party workers got into an argument with the police demanding permission to enter Kaushik's house. They pushed the police and tried to get inside the residence. The leaders and activists of both the parties attacked each other.

It is learnt that eggs and tomatoes were thrown at Kaushik Reddy and BRS party leaders. The windows of his house were also reported to have been broken. With a large number of the Congress party workers arriving at the house of Kaushik Reddy, it became a bit difficult for the police to control them. However, the police took Arikapudi Gandhi into custody. He was taken home by them later.

Arekapudi Gandhi, along with his followers staged a sit-in at Padi Kaushik Reddy's house. When the police tried to send him away, he was angry and demanded that Kaushik Reddy be called out of his house. He demanded that he be sent inside the house if they could not bring Kaushik Reddy out of his residence. A scuffle broke out between the police and the followers of Arekapudi Gandhi. Some of the followers pushed the gate and entered Kaushik Reddy's house. Gandhi was later arrested by the police.

Earlier, Arekapudi Gandhi spoke to the media. He said he had gone to Reddy’s house because he did not come to his house. "You couldn't come to my house. I've come to your house myself. Kaushik Reddy's behaviour has not been right since he came to the BRS party,” he alleged. He criticized that the BRS party was defeated because of Reddy’s style of functioning. He alleged that Reddy had been accused of creating regional differences. “Kaushik Reddy is a broker. The BRS was destroyed when Kaushik Reddy joined it. It was because of him that the party lost," he added.

Meanwhile, Kaushik Reddy has reacted to the attack on his house by the followers of MLA Arikapudi Gandhi. "Gandhi took his rowdies and came to my house. There was an attempt to murder me. It was the police who attacked them. This action will exactly have the same reaction. You'll see what happens tomorrow. I will definitely go to Arikapudi Gandhi's house tomorrow,” he said.

He alleged that Gandhi had cheated TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu after winning on his party ticket and added that he had also cheated KCR by winning on the BRS party ticket. Kaushik Reddy challenged Gandhi and asked him to win again.
